Introduction
Chuuse ("Chuuse", "we", "us", or "our") provides talent placement and workforce solutions to companies, and represents talent in the placements we make. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and applicable regulation from the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
This policy applies to visitors of our website, companies who engage us to hire or manage talent, and individuals ("talent" or "candidates") who apply through us or are placed by us. By using our website or services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information We Collect
Information companies provide to us: When you submit an enquiry or engage us to hire, we collect company name, contact name, work email, phone/WhatsApp number, role details, target start date, and any message content you share with us.
Information talent provides to us: When you apply, are referred, or are placed through Chuuse, we collect your name, contact details, CV/resume, work history, skills assessments, portfolio or reference materials, identification and bank details required for payroll, and any documentation needed for compliance and onboarding.
Information collected automatically. When you use our website, we collect device type, browser and operating system, IP address, pages visited, and referring pages, typically through cookies and similar technologies described below.
How We Use Your Information
- To source, screen, and place talent against roles companies bring to us.
- To deliver workforce solutions: payroll processing, compliance support, onboarding, and documentation.
- To communicate with you about enquiries, placements, or ongoing support.
- To improve our website, services, and vetting process.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in Nigeria.
- To send occasional updates or newsletters, where you've opted in.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data on one or more of the following bases: your consent (for example, submitting the contact form or joining our waitlist); performance of a contract (delivering a placement or workforce solutions service); and our legitimate interests in operating and improving Chuuse, balanced against your rights. Where payroll or compliance data is involved, processing may also be necessary to meet a legal obligation.
Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted internal access, to protect the information we hold. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to minimize risk and respond promptly to any incident.
Data Retention
We retain company and candidate information for as long as needed to deliver our services, maintain accurate records for compliance and tax purposes, and resolve any disputes. Talent placed through our workforce solutions bundle may have payroll and compliance records retained for the period required under applicable Nigerian regulation.
Your Rights
Depending on your relationship with Chuuse, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes required under the NDPA.
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve or as regulation changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant, we'll take reasonable steps to notify companies and talent we actively work with.
